Tubular breast

Tubular breast is a congenital malformation of the female breast. Cases range from mild to severe. It is characterised by an incorrect development of the lower quadrants, an elevated fold below the breast, a small breast base and an enlarged areola. This syndrome affects the mental well-being of patients, who often complain of impaired sexuality. Breastfeeding may also be restricted in some cases.

Tubular breast is a very complex syndrome and the required operations are very challenging. The aim of the operation is to correct the underdeveloped quadrants (usually with an implant), to create the fold below the breast and to correct the nipple or areola. Lipofilling (the transfer of fatty tissue) is often carried out alongside this operation.
